Be mature and act like an adult.

  • Maintain your own separate identity.

  • Don’t be dependent.

  • Continue to enjoy activities and hobbies that you don’t share with your partner.

  • Be socially active.

  • Be confident of your value to your partner

  • Do not feel the need to be in constant touch all the time

  • Relax and stop over-analyzing.

  • Stop begging and bargaining for your partner’s time.

  • Have a purpose in life.

  • Enjoy some alone time.

  • Go out for a movie, go to a spa, take a nap, read, or go for a jog or an evening walk.

  • Hang out with your friends sans your partner.

  • No matter how close you are to each other, spend some time apart.

  • Get busy doing things.

  • Speak up for yourself.

  • Plan for your future, irrespective of your significant other.
